Challenges do arise while project execution and they need to be dealt with proper technical and soft skills. You need to ensure that neither the design nor the quality of the structure get compromised during execution. He is also involved in procuring materials and man power required for landscape implementation. His work profile also involves planning for logistics and quality inspection of the landscape related materials.
Ajit says, "I feel that human beings with development of technology have grown distant from the nature. They have lost their connection from the ultimate source of inspiration. I as a landscape architect consider it my responsibility to re-establish the forgotten bond. I believe in designing spaces that allow fusion of natural elements with the man-made ones to provide a sense of connectivity with the nature. I also consider that while designs that contain elements of landscape need a bit more maintenance but in the long run, they provide returns that are intangible yet quite unique."
Saraswat Sekhar Sarangi
(Technical Principal Designer)
Education:
Areas of Expertise:
Studio: Sundargarh
As the Technical Principal Designer, Saraswat is responsible for technical and detailed drawings. He is also responsible for construction documentation and site supervisions for quality checks. Since his joining, he has taken a keen interest in diversifying the portfolio of the studio by adding the dimensions of urban planning and building guidelines to assure that designs are in accordance to the government established guidelines. His list of duties also include research on indigenous materials as well as monitoring work progress of employees and interns.
Saraswat says, "I think architecture in time has evolved not just in terms of ideas, concepts, tools, and techniques but also by its degree of exposure to a much larger audience. Which was once a symbol of aristocracy and luxury has slowly evolved into a bourgeoisie idea that symbolizes the identity and taste rather than any social or economic order. With its fusion with the new facets of planning, landscape, and interior designing on the platform of the 21st century social order, the shape the field of architecture will take in the future is yet to be known."
